After two years of discerning her vocation as an
Affiliate,
Lorraine asks to become a Postulant. The Rule of Benedict asks
that the Affiliate knock at the door. She is then led in by her
Vocation Director and asked by the Prioress "What is it you
seek?" Lorraine then responds by reading her letter of intent'
A portion of the Rule of Benedict is read, and the Sisters
respond The community members are then asked to support Lorraine and her Formation Director as she begins her journey of seeking God in this Benedictine Community. Lorraine is then welcomed into the community by a blessing prayed by the Prioress and the Community. Together, Lorraine, friends and community process into Chapel for Vespers. Prayer is followed by an evening meal and a celebration with her friends, family and her new community, the Benedictine Sisters of Sacred Heart Monastery. |
