Friends of the Lisle Library

Twice a
year, for three days each time, the Friends of the Lisle Library
organization sponsor a large Book Sale at the Library. The quality of
the materials being sold (CD's, records, videos, large print, etc.) make
it a popular sale, well-attended. People come from many miles to
purchase the books. The money made from the sales goes to sponsor free
travelogues, concerts, monologues and other educational and cultural
events at the library. It takes a number of volunteers to run these
successful sales. Among the volunteers you will find there, is our Sr.
Barbara Ann Svec, OSB Although she cannot physically help to set up
the books, she can put in her days at the cashier's table. "I look
forward to these sales because I love books and reading and am glad to
see so many others like to enjoy reading too."
